Camping Weekend at Port Severn

August 24, 2007

We had a lovely time as a family taking our pop-up trailer for the first time with the six of us. Cousin Laura joined us for the trip, adding some welcome helping hands!

Big Baby Girls

August 24, 2007

The twins have been developing by leaps and bounds this summer, and since it’s been such a long time since I’ve updated this blog, you will see a huge difference in the twins.

Now they spend lots of time sitting up and taking notice in their bumbo seats . . .

Visit to Toronto

July 8, 2007

We had a nice weekend in Toronto last week, visiting Great Grandma Sherman, Auntie Gail, and Uncle Gary. It made for some good photo ops . . .

And we also made a little trip to Pickering and Ajax where we took some pictures of Erin’s old house on Banner Crescent, and Erin’s old school Lakeside P.S.

Caiti’s Birthday

July 7, 2007

Caiti enjoyed a Princess party last Friday, June 29th, and since it was her third birthday, we had her first party with friends. The girls (and Liam) had fun playing dress up in the backyard.

Auntie Boo (Kevin’s sister Dianna) made a fantastic castle cake, and of course it had to be purple.

Later that evening we had another “party” for Caiti when we went down to Great Grandma Sherman’s house, where she showed us, painstakingly, exactly how old she is now.

Busy weeks

June 27, 2007

Things are getting busier as summer approaches. Soon Caiti will be 3 and Liam will be home from school every day.

The twins continue to grow rapidly. At last weight, Meg was 10 lbs 6 oz, and Gwen was 11 lbs 3 oz. They can now hold up their heads well, smile and coo, which is a delightful stage for all of us.

Kevin had a nice Father’s Day, though even that is busy with four kids! The children all showed him their appreciation in their own way.

Sunday at the Park

June 12, 2007

We had a lovely time yesterday at the Barrie waterfront. The babies hung out in the stroller . . .

Precious Moments

June 4, 2007

We’ve had a few moments where we just had to capture our little ones just being cute.

If you look closely at this picture, you’ll notice that Gwen has pulled Meg’s strap off her shoulder. OH, MY!

Meg and Gwen’s Dedication

June 4, 2007

Yesterday we dedicated the twins to Christ. It’s been a tradition in our family, but more than that. It’s a public declaration of our intention to raise our children in the Lord.

The babies behaved beautifully — slept through the whole thing!Gwen dedication

2 Months Since the Twins Came Home

June 1, 2007

Wow, it’s been a crazy 2 months! It seems we’ve hardly had a moment to breathe this spring. But I guess that’s what you’d expect having twins. After a month of trying to nurse the babies and backtracking farther and farther, we decided to give up. Thankfully, we have a freezer full of pumped milk and a free supply of formula from our doctor. Without that, we’d be up a creek!

The twins are now 8 weeks corrected age, and 4 1/2 months actual age. At last weight, Meg was almost 9 lbs, and Gwen was 9 1/2. They are growing like crazy, so we expect to hit the 10 lb mark very soon.

They are getting strong — strong necks and strong lungs! Imagine a fussy baby times two and you have a recipe for pulling out of the hair. But we try to enjoy the good times, and take a little time with the other little darlings!
